The trim level designations do not have any meaning to them. They are only used to designate which trim a certain vehicle is. The LTZ is used as the highest trim level which would include the most options out of any of the other trim levels for the vehicle. I hope that helps to answer the question.

Hi mr toad,
Welcome to the Chevy Forums.
Trim levels are generally layered. You get a certain amount of upgrades with a specific trim level. For instance you get deep charcoal thick vinyl floors with the "LS" trim level, whereas at the "LT" level you get high pile Anso IV carpeting treatments(which in many instances, actually matches the rest of the stylin' Chevy interior...)
LTZ, to the best of my knowledge, is the pinnacle of Silverado trim levels, with captains chairs, "real" center consoles, and chromium plated, zircon encrusted,
dual-flexibility nose pickers with vacuum enhanced bio-guard mini-storage units. (Oh crap, did I say that out loud?)
Generally the LTZ units are referred to as "Creature Feature" trucks by dealers, because they have so many luxury amenities generally seen only by Cadillac. Many of the Owners purchase them with a lot of highway driving in mind, for the sake of comfort.
