Default Lift Kit Help!!!!!!!!!!

I'm brand new to the forum, and recently purchased a '03 4x4 1500 ext. cab. I want to know the pro's and cons of putting on a 6" suspension lift. I'd really like to have 35"- 37" tires, a skid plate and i want the beefier muscle look that comes with a lift. I have little to no experience lifting vehicles and what to know what my best options are going to be to give my truck the lifted, squatting look.

if u have no prior experience then it would be best to just let someone else do it for you. And you'll get some more clearance from a lift and that cooler look but you will also have less control and be more prone to rollover so watch out. and to get some serious clearance you should put some big 42 or 44s with some decent rims to get that axle higher up

Let's see your mileage will get really bad, the steering joints will wear out faster, tires will cost two to three times more. Now, you tell me you want to save some money by doing it yourself! Ha, Ha,Ha!

pros- it'll look good if done right and you'll have the look you want for your truck

cons-steerin components wear faster due to large tires, if you don't regear you'll be under powered bad, tires are way expensive

I'd do it of I had the funds, but I'm set with where my truck sits now

I have a 89 Blazer that i'm tryin to sell right now that had a 6" suspension and a 3" body when i purchased it and i had 40" Iroks on it so i know about the whole driving thing. what i'm wondering is what is going to be best for my truck to fit 35" tires. i had 40's on the blazer and it was just too much. so any suggestions about brands or types of lift? i've looked at prices and rough country seems to be cheapest but i've also heard you get what you pay for with them and that they aren't very good. and i never said anything about lifting it myself i meant buying lifts and the effects they would have on my truck.

I bought a silverado with a six inch lift, 18X9 rims with Big Country Tires 285 by 9.5 if I remember right. I get comments all the time on how good it looks from kids and middle aged men. Mileage sucks, though. Oh, and it has the lower geared rear end. I believe this can be an issue if change wheel size as wheels are the equivelant of gears. I also have the electric roll out steps. I does look nice and I get to stop in a lot of gas stations and talk to people!

I'm running 3.73 in my 04 2500 6.0 lifted 6" with 35's and need to go to at least 4.10... Don't forget you need to match the front axle to the rear.

with 35s you'd want to do at least 4:10s...and that's if you don't tow anything..if you tow then 4:56s will be what you want. it's bout 1000 to do front and back I believe
