Default Lift Kit question

Truck is a 2006 1500 Z71. Currently with stock suspension and wheels, 265-70R17 tires. I want to upgrade to a set of 18" wheels with 275 65R18 tires, and some better shocks, maybe Rancho ES or something like that..

A friend brought up I may need a lift to get a clear turning radius. Is this true, and if so..about how much for a 1-2" lift kit?

Thanks..

the 275/65/18 tires will be roughly a 32.1" tire...I put 285/75/16s on mine at stock height and they're considered a 33" tire. you should be fine with the 275/65/18 but if it does rub a little get under and crank on the torsion bars a little bit and it'll clear no problem

Thanks man!

I decided to hold off on the new wheels for now and stick with the stock 17" rims.. So would a 285mm tire be too big, if 275 is cutting it close?

I found a pretty good price on some BFG AT KO's 285/70R17 @ $270/ea... I can't seem to find the 275's in a 17" size...

Thanks again!

285/70/17 will be good...may have to crank up the torsion bars if they rub but they'll be ok

Overall diameter of the stock tire setup is 31.60" and you would go up to a 32.70" so you would be picking up a little over a inch in diameter. See how much clearance you have now and decide if it will fit or not.
