Default Lifted Truck MPG

Hey gents,

I have a 2007 Suburban 2wd 5.3L w/ 7" lift and 35" tires. I get about 13mpg around town. Not bad… But my friend claims up and down (who has an '04 F-150 4dr. 4wd, 5.4L with 20" lift 49" tires) that he gets 14mpg around town because he has 5.13 gears. Is this possible or is he full of it? Thanks.

Prolly full of it. Even simple aerodynamics wouldn't allow I'm to get 14 mpg. 5.13s are helpin him, but I run 4.88s on 35s and get 13 town and maybe 15 hwy. don't see how on 49s and 20" of lift he's gettin 14mpg in town, unless he's goin off his dash, in that case it's probably wrong.
