Hi guys. I'm looking at buying a 97 k1500 with a 5.7. It's the z71 model. I haven't seen it yet only pics but the outside looks good except for a little faded paint on the hood. The truck has 260k on the body but owner says only 60k on new engine and rebuilt trans. I have yet to look at any of his receipts for previous repairs.

I'm an Ase certified mechanic but I don't actually work on cars anymore and never really did in a shop so my experience is limited with these trucks. The guys wants $1500 for it. Anyone have advice on what they would do? Thank you guys.

 

I would not sell my 97 burb for triple that.
