Default Looking for water pump suggestions

Howdy - My 2002 Silverado has 170k+ miles and it's time toonce again flush and replace the coolant. However, it still has the originalserpentine belt and water pump. Considering the mileage, I think it would beideal to replace the pump. The OEM pump at the dealership costs about $230+. Isee some pumps online that start at $50+. I would like some recommendations fora reliable brand and even a place to purchase if possible. Thanks in advance.<o></o>

Check E-bay and type in your truck info. Search for a new pump and belt. Better to buy new than rebuilt. Most come from china and so do most from autoparts stores, autozone, oreillys etc. Gates, cardone ind. are well known for good parts at reasonable prices

Perhaps think of the old adage, "If it aint broke, don't fix it." But that is a lot of mileage; and some great longevity on that water pump.

NAPA, Autozone, Advance, Pep Boys, etc. I agree, new and not rebuilt. They sometimes have good, better, best; get best. Serp belt, hoses too while you're at it.

The vast majority of the time "good" "better" and "best" are all the same part but priced differently to cover the warranty that comes with that particular part.

LOL marketing, did that before market to the masses, and Ben Franklin close.
