I have a 1999 Z71 Silverado 4x4, 5.3L. When I bought the truck about 9 months ago I noticed the fan was really loud at slow speeds. Sounds like the cooling fan on a diesel engin. I thought it was the clutch but it is not, I changed it out with a new one this past weekend. Is it the actual fan it's self that is so loud? I had a 1998 Chevy Silverado and you could never hear the fan on it.

Are there any after market fans that I can use or will the fan from a 1998 fit on the the 1999?

Any suggestions would be helpful.
