Default Low RPM's?

I drive a '02 chevy silverado 2500hd with a v8 vortec (6.0L). im not sure what my RPM's are supposed to be at and im not sure what they were when i bought the truck (bought it in july '11) but i have noticed my rpms at idle are 500. for a larger engine i would think they would be a little bit higher but im not sure. i recently had my service engine light go off (knock sensor error) and cleared the code. the code never came back so i am assuming it either worked it sleve out or there never really was a problem. i feel like my truck dosnt have as much power as it used to and i think it might have something to do with the low RPM's (if they are low). Any suggestions or anyone have this problem? thank you in advance

Well first I'd change that knock sensor for sure, and it may just be the nature of the beast. The 6.0's are dogs offthe line

i have a 99 silverado with the 6.0 and on cold mornings when i crank it up it idles at 1000pm then drops down to around 700 after a few seconds on warm starts and warm days it idles around 600-500rpm its normal when it starts idleing around 200-250 300ish then its rough and kills thats when the fuel pump needs to be changed has to do it on my truck but its normal as long as its warm

You think it might just be the fuel pump?

you will know it the fuel pump when it idles ruff and dies that will be from lack of fuel to the engine thats what happend on mine idle at 500-600 is normal for a 6.0 when its warm when it cold it sits around 700-1000
