Default lowering Silverado fuel tank

Good morning all,
I need to replace the fuel tank pressure sensor on my 2012 Silverado 1500 lT 5.3. I just need to lower it about 2" and don't want to go thru all the hose disconnects. Can anyone tell me how much the tank can be lowered without disconnecting anything. I'm 74 and don't want to make a major project out of this as I am working on my back in the driveway. Thanks in advance for any help.

If you’re still needing an answer….

The tank can easily be lowered at least 6” without disconnecting the fuel/EVAP lines and electrical connections.

The filler neck will prevent it from dropping too far, but if you’re using a floor Jack to support it, the neck should still flex enough to lower it.

Thank You Gumby 22 for your reply.

I lowered the tank about 4" with a floor jack this morning without disconnecting any hoses. It was enough to remove and replace the FTPS very easily. All is good now. Thanks again for your reply Gumby 22.

As low as the hoses and other items on the fuel tank will allow for would be my guesstimation.

Gumby22 was correct. I hadn't seen his post yet so ignore my estimation.

Thanks for your reply Oilcan,

Gumby 22 replied that I could lower it about 6". Before his reply I did the job by lowering it about 4" and had no trouble replacing the FTPS. Thanks again for your reply.
