What's up, I just bought a 01 silverado. I guess I got a rare one or something because its a regular cab, long bed with a 4.8 v-8 two wheel drive.. But I'm new to the Chevy world so im wondering what I can do to make it fast without spending to much money. I have heard about chips? or "free mods"? also anything to make it look sweet. Rims, tires, also a leveling kit. Any advise would be great.

free flowin exhaust(not flowmaster-flows like crap), CAI, custom tune not chip or programmer, and for looks you could debadge it(take emblems off), billet grille, painted bowtie, if door handles/tailgate handles aren't painted already get them painted, tint, then a levelin kit(have them from 1.5"-2.5") so your choice. if you get the 2.5" one you may need to lift the back end too. then your choice of rims and tires

Yep, fast = money
Turbo charger
High comp 11:1 pistons
Adjustable CAM sprockets
Big bore kit
Headers
Exhaust wrap
Upping the throttle bodies
Adding another gear
Hi flow torque converter
A flux capacitor able to generate 1.21 gigawatts to get you back to 1985
It all costs money
I suppose an inexpensive power mod you could start out with would
Be a cold air intake. I like Volant and airaid intakes the best.

You will not notice any power gain.
The numbers those companies boast about are correct when
They show you the dynomometer results, they just neglect to tell you
About the other mods they did to the vehicle along with the new exhaust
When they put it back on the dyno.
I have flowmaster 40 series and it has a great sound, however a little
Quietter than what I want so I an upgrading to a flow 30 series and also
Want to put on 2.75- 3" pipes instead of the 2 1/3" stock pipes.
It's gonna make some sweet sounds
