Have an 81 chevy. I recently posted a thread about the truck engine not turning off when the ignition key is turned. I did as suggested and replaced the steering column. The engine turned off on the first attempt, but in subsequent attempts the engine once again refused to stop even with the ignition key turned off. Is this still a problem with the steering column, or could there be something else I might be able to repair???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

do you have an after market tach? if so disconnect it then try again
