Motor swap.

I've got a 1991 GMC 1500 that I hit a deer with and my buddy has a '86 silverado with a blown motor. I was thinking of giving him my motor in exchange for his motor as my trucks going to scrap anyways. Which would be easier to do, a straight up swap and put the efi motor into his truck and redo everything to make it run, or make the efi motor carbourated and put it in the 86, if that's even possible?

if you want to put the tbi motor in the 86 and keep fuel injection, you have to run the wiring harness and computer out of your 91. if you carb the motor, it's just a matter of swapping intake manifolds, distributors, and hooking up all of the 86's stuff back up to that motor. that's only the real difference between those motors
