Just bought a chev cavalier, it's a 4 cylinder and the motor has lots of play. When it starts the motor really twists. Never owned one before and this had a motor swap done before I bought it and it looks like new motor mounts were installed. anyone know what the normal amount of movement would be?

 

I think my 2.4L shook on start up.

check the lower engine mount strut. it looks like a dog bone and is located on the bottom passenger side of the engine. I wouldn't want it to move more than 1 inch.
