Fans vary a lot by brand, size, pull/push ratings, etc. If you have a smaller radiator you might want to consider getting some LS1 elec. fans like from a junk yard, but if you have a larger radiator you could get some off of a '05+ tahoe/suburban/silverado. Then all you would have to buy other than that would be a control module to control the fans' speeds. I have a monster flex-a-lite kit that I bought off of ebay for like 300-350 and it has the Variable Control Module (I think that's what it's called) that allows the fans to go from 0%-60%-100% of their speed depending on the temperature of the engine. It will allow the engine to heat up faster (especially good for the winter months) and you can even set the temperature that you want your engine to stay at. I have played around with it and have ranged my engine temp setting from 180-205 degrees (stock mine should run around 205-210). I was told that my engine runs its most efficient at ~205, so that's what it's set at right now.

well when i do it i want to stay under $150 at the most.. and the kit i want is $85 + shipping and that leaves me about 50 or more for the fan. im sure ebay has some on there for that much.

You have to have enough pull/push of air by the fans so that it's cooling enough for your engine's horsepower/heating output. I would opt for 2 decent sized ones, and if you cannot fit them on the same side then I would put one on the front and one on the rear.

1 should be fine for you. two would be just to show off. but as cam3439 stated, it depends on the push/pull rate, fan size.

See if you can find a fan or fans that will accommodate your engine's needs. I don't know what you'll need, but mine were 5500 or 6000 CFM's. I have the larger radiator so I opted for larger fans. You can get one, but it has to be pretty decent in pulling air. Compare the CFM's and get something you're comfortable with.

Ok. So far looking on Ebay I found these. Get two of these, it should be around your price range, and should be enough CFM's for your truck (for the summer and/or if you pull).

What temperature does your truck normally run at? Some of these kits have set temperature settings that you cannot change. you might want to opt for buying a set of fans only and then buying a control module, that'll allow you to set your temperature, separately.
