Default Mud flaps

Hey! I am looing at getting mud flaps for my new truck and was wondering about the ones that are plastic and mould around the fender. Are they going to be as good and durable as the regular rubber kind? Ireallylike thelook of the moulded type. Opinions and personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They will hold up as well but you should probably put some 3M film under the flaps to protect the paint.

3M film? What is that? I am guessing some sort of tape?

brands such as husky liner come with the 3m clear film. This get applied to the painted surface and then the flap rest on the film instead of the paint. The better aftermarket splash guards are HUSKY LINER and the new WEATHERTECH.

I just let my dealer installChevyOE molded guards on my truck whenI bought it. No muss no fuss and the price was right. I even hit something one time and knockedthe right front loose and my dealer repaired it for free while I was having the oil changed. Mineare the ones that are black with the white bowtie emblem and they do a great job of keeping the crud off my truck. Keep it Chevy.

Anyone that has installed the OEM Molded Splash Guards from the dealer, do you happen to know if those are made by Husky Liner? From what i can tell by online pics, they look exactly the same except the GM ones have the bowtie on them. I really don't want the bowtie as i want to make these less noticable as possible.

Thanks
Danno

looks like you can get the factory ones with out the bowtie. I have the ones with the gold bowtie they work good. I happen to like the idea I have a chevy I guess thats why I like the bowtie. and I even left my Z71 stickers on. Oh ya they show that they are avaiable at GM direct.

Does anyone happen to know the GM part # for the molded ones for an 04 silverado. Someone has some for sale on ebay but I like to make sure they are the right ones.
