Question need help 1988 K1500 stereo replacement

The stereo is jacked up. The speakers on the passenger side make a loud crackling noise no matter how low or loud the sound is. I pulled the stereo out and I see that the wires DO NOT UNPLUG. The wires go from deep down behind the dash then into a hole in the back of the stereo. I know I can just cut the wires, but I don't know what wires are which. I need a solution.

all stereo wires should be the same.
any old generic stereo wiring diagram should work.

green/green with striker
grey/grey with striker
blue/blue with striker
purple/purple with striker - all these are speaker wire

blue with green striker Is amp remote

something along those lines

I wish it was that easy man... I got the same problem, and will probably have to take it into a auto shop seeing how I can not find any info on which color is which. Here is the series of colors:

Plug 1 is a 9 plug that wires directly into the rear of the tape deck:
Dark blue, Orange, Light Tan, Light blue w/ black stripe, Black, grey and a insulated tube with 2 blacks and a red in side of it.

Plug 2 is a 6 plug that wires into the rear of the Stereo:
Red, White, Black, Yellow, Orange and a Tan/light purple looking color.

Where can we get a actual list of what these colors are too???

For Future Reference. I received an answer from another source which I am going to pursue:

Your missing a part: look for the amplifier/tuner pack, located under the dash behind your ashtray. It's a silver box about the size of a paperback book, mounted vertically. Remove three screws to drop it down (one screw is behind the small panel under your steering column). At the top you'll find three plugs. The black plug has power, accessory power and ground wires. The white plug has the front speaker wires, and the blue plug has the rear speaker wires. A standard GM wire harness adapter will fit (Metra 70-1858 or similar). The AM/FM antenna connection is also found at the top of the amp/tuner.
