RE: need help
You need to be a lot more specific than that. Does it do it with the truck off and the key on. If so when you turn your key on without starting it will prime the fuel system and usually if you listen you can hear them.

RE: need help
Take it to GM or any place that can pull codes from the port under the dash. Mine made a whine/humming (depended on the fuel level) for 6 mo. Then I had them test it and the codes came back low fuel pressure from different times past. My truck would stumble at idle once in a great while. New pump, no whine! Well, except maybe from me a little. The pump and labor was about $400.00.

RE: need help
My 1998 s-10 made the same whining noise and was the fuel pump, it seems this is a common problem with chev trucks, I had mentioned the problem to the owner of my local NAPA store, mainley because he uses S-10's and Colorados as delivery trucks, he told me the fuel pump makes that sound as a echo in the fuel tank, kinda like if u have a half full wine glass, wet your finger and rub it in a circular motion around the rim of the glass, it makes a whining sound! he told me that a lotta guys are putting a dent in there fuel tanks, like with a 2x4 and a dead blow hammer, lol sounds crazey but he said it has worked?
