I have a 1995 3500 Dually regular cab with a 454tbi, 4l80e trans, and 4.10 gears. The truck only has 80,000 mile on it and is in good shape. I get about 8-9 mpg. Is there anything that I can do to improve the mileage. I thought about changing the gears to 3.73 and maybe going to electric fans like my later model trucks have had. The previous owner replaced the factory clutched fan with a straight drive flex fan with about ten blades on it, it sounds like a plane trying to take off under acceleration. Can this truck be reprogrammed? Will that help ? Thanks in advance....

You have a gas drunk...lol... you should be able to replace the ring and pinion, but I know you wont have the torque, and honestly I don't think the little extra mpg you gain will really off set the cost of the change... but I could be wrong.....
