Are you talking about the WiFi hot spot? Any 2013 or newer model can become a WiFi hotspot. Requires installation of a module. But you have to find a dealer that is willing to do it. Most of the Accessory warehouses wont carry them as they require a very electrical savvy person to install them and the cost as well. I will see if I can find you the website with all the info.

What a great truck. Which motor did you go with. Sorry if I missed it. I belive from the only one time I sat in a HC is a moonroof and slide rear window. LTZ is a moonroof option IIR. Stay safe and enjoy.

Not sure if I understand you (IIR) but mine does have a sunroof , but not have a little sliding rear window. I think there was a delete on the window sticker for that for some other option. I don't think I would want an mini window there anyway. Pretty useless and would get in the way if I wanted a big open slider to a cap or camper. Now - if there was a whole sliding window or even better a midgate on a half ton (I miss the Avalanches) I would have taken that in a Chevy heart beat!

Wow you are the ma....woman! Nice job finding that information for me - thank you very much. I was beginning to think that the only way was for it to be a 2015 with the 4G option. Do you think the option you found will give me all the 4G screen apps and continual updates that the 4g video talks about? If so that might be worth it. I have a degree in electronic engineering and am a master electrician so that might help with the install unless it has to be a Chebby/Onstar/AT&T approved installer?

https://chevroletforum.com/forum/new...deos%5D-62730/

I just spoke with the Autonet people and it may need to be installed by the dealer, the first year is free for 50MB (I think), $19 a month for 1GB. The unit was $445 online plus install. But maybe myself.

In any case it's 3G at this time.

The GM is 4G LTE and probably a better integration with the trucks own diagnostics, apps and firmware updates. I doubt I'll be able to put the GM hotspot in my truck. It may not even be available for the 2015 Silverados yet. My guess is it's a whole lot cheeper to get a verizon card or just activate the AT&T mobileme feature on my iPhone and iPad and Laptop. Then just use the OnStar service for remote lock unlock and remote system status and airbag activation safety.

Which motor did you go with? What I meant was the only High country vs the LTZ that I have sat in was a moonroof and rear slider. Sorry if you thought I was referring to yours. Just the ones I have been in. You have a fine ride sir. Slider or not.

It came with the 5.3. I think the 6.2 is standard in the High Country. It's so rare I would need the 6.2. The 5.3 let's it get out of it's own way when I want to. Gas is a serious consideration now so I'm happy with the 5.3

Thanks for the complements - she is a beauty. Rides like a limo. I kinda liked the honeycomb grill of the prior years and I'm told I could have it changed for about $3-400 but it's pretty shiny as is.

I don't think the Z71 off road package is avail on the High Country which is the main reason I went with this instead. Skid plate(plates?) and extra leaf spring, I'm told. Not sure about any other differences.

When 4 wheeling on the beach in soft sand I got a "Service Stabletrack" msg a few times but it stopped shortly after I hit the pavement and hosed it all off - the dealer is not concerned. Probably some sand in a wheel sensor for a little bit.

Just received the one nice new retractable side step accessory (22799283) I got on ebay for $250 instead of the $325 each from a dealer. Lots of parts - no instructions! Anybody with a link to the installation instructions feel free to post it. LOL - here we go again!

Edit: I got the instructions on how to install the bed step from my local dealer. Had to order a special $17 GM tool to crush a couple rivet nuts.

Default Vert cool mad max!

Great looking truck. Saw one the other day at the dealer. Good luck with it. Has anyone heard if GM is planning a new Avalanche?

Only weak rumors online in the other forums. Hard to believe they wouldn't bring back such a popular vehicle like they did the Camaro. My guess is just a major remake in the works.
