Default New to Chevys/Diesel

Hey everyone I'm new to the forum.

I am looking at a 98' chevy 2500 4x4 diesel with 150,000 miles

The guy says that it has a new fuel pump and new cylinoids.

Is the fuel pump the same thing as the injecter pump?

What things should I look for on the truck to of been done, and does this truck have certain problems i should be aware of before I purchase?

Any information would be great considering I never owned a diesel

fuel pump is seperate from injector pump. fuel pump gets fuel up to injector pump which then increases the pressure. diesels need higher pressure than gas motors. as far as issues, not really sure about this diesel. i'd say use a good diesel injector cleaner/treatment, keep up on maintenance. and, welcome to the forums!!! post pics of your truck as well. we love pics!!!

Maxxman04, thanks for the info, and the welcome.

Does anyone know more if i should consider getting this truck. Dont injecter pumps usually need to be replaced around 150k on diesels and isnt that an expensive thing to have done?

it depends on how well rig was taken care of. if previous owner took care of rig, you should be ok. if rig is beat, not taken care of, leaking oil and such, walk away. otherwise, it sounds like a good deal.
