New guy here, been creeping the site for a while, but I haven't found the answer I'm needing. I've got a 2007 Silverado 2500 HD. I believe it is the "Classic" When I got it the 7 pin plug was broken off and the wires were taped up. I have looked across the WWW and found a picture that showed the wire colors/function but of course they don't match what I have. There is an electric brake mounted in the truck, but unknown what brand.

Mine has the following wires;
Big red-no power
Big black-no power, but seems to act as the ground
Big blue-no power

the rest are small wires;
Yellow- I think it should go to the left turn signal but no power
Brown-goes to the tail lights
Lt green-no power
Dark green-right tail turn signal/brake
Lt blue-no power

I would like to know what wires are supposed to do so I can track down the ones that dont seem to be working. I also thought it was strange that I have 8 wires going to a 7 pin plug???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. If you're referring to the trailer connector, they are usually pinned like:

Terminal A, LT GRN wire: Back-up lamps
Terminal B, WHT wire: Ground
Terminal C, DK BLU wire: N/C
Terminal D, DK GRN wire: Right turn lamps
Terminal E, RED wire: Battery voltage
Terminal F, BRN wire, Park lamps
Terminal G, YEL wire, Left turn lamps
