Default New old truck - part changing for reliability

Hi everyone, glad to be a part of this forum as a new member.

Just bought a 1990 GMC suburban 4x4. It's in good shape, very little rust and runs well. Looks as though it has been well maintained during it's 25 year life.

I like to do a lot of my own maintenance and repair work and will be starting upgrading some parts soon . My goal is to use this as a camping and hunting truck. I live in the Yukon so reliability is important due to the lack of services.

My question is if you guys bought a vehicle like this, what would you be swapping in for new parts (preventative maintenance) to insure reliability?

I am already considering installing the dormans Air Conditioner by-pass pully (don't need a/c in the Yukon). Also considering a new fuel pump, keeping the other in the truck as spare. Upgrading suspension with a lift and all new ball joints/bushings up front. Any other ideas?

Thanks everyone in advance!

Definitely the fuel pump unless you know that it was recently changed with a good quality pump.
