New to the site and have a couple questions
hey guys im new to the sight and look forward to becoming a regular lol. about a year ago i bought a 2001 1500 with 230000. the guy i got it from ran full synthetic in it. the truck now has 240000 miles and am wondering what everyone would suggest weight wise for oil. im thinking 10-40 synthetic but just wondering what your guys opinions are.
I always run what the cap says, unless there is some "extreme" climate considerations. Usually that means to me if I am running 10w-30 in the summer, I might run 5w-30 in winter. You might also reference the owners manual if it has one. In my suburban with 170K I run non synthetic Castrol hi mileage, it is about the same price as synthetic, but I like it. Are you having any engine issues, 240K is alot of miles.
