Default New Speedometer Cluster Problems!

Hey Guys,

I live in a small rural community in the middle of nowhere and I had to order my new speedometer cluster from Chevy. And had it installed locally. It works great but my DIC steering wheel controls won't work anymore I can't look at my gas or my trip all it show is engine hours and odometer. Do I have to take it to a dealer to get it to work? Or can i do something? If i have to take to a dealer how much will it cost?

Thanks

not much of help, i just have that gut feeling that you had wrong cluster installed or ordered, better say. they have multiple versions because of various options, and one wrong connector will screw everything.

btw, if you know exact part #, you'll easy save 50% on same parts here:

check with the dealer. I have a '04 Ext. Cab with the 4.8 motor and I received in December of '07 a letter from Chevy that the instrument cluster could go bad. Well, at the time the cluster was working fine but in May of this year the speedometer got stuck on 80 mph ( I swear I was doing 70) and it would not move. I took it and they changed it for free.

Sounds like it got the wrong program. Did you order it by VIN?

Negative. I took it to the dealer since I had received that notice from Chevy.
