New truck, Silverado or Tundra ? Help me decide.
I currently own a 2007 Tundra 5.7L SR5 Crewmax w/ 121,000 miles on it. No problems other than wear items replaced so far. Serpentine belt, plugs, brakes, radiator flushed, rear end oil changed. I like the look of the 2014 Silverado & GMC's but not impressed with the 5.3 engine deactivation system, Plus gas mileage for the most part is no better that the Tundra from most of articles I have read. I do tow a 8,000 lb. travel trailer a few times a year. What are your (owners) thoughts on this ? Thanks, Joe
That is a pretty tough call to make. The Silverado is a better-looking truck, for sure, but the 'cylinder deactivation' thing is troubling to some people.
The Silverado is (mostly) built South of the border - and the Tundra is assembled here in the USA (Indiana, I believe). Someone I know calls the new Chevy the Silverodriguez because they are hecho en Mexico now.
