Default new wheels, tpms

I am thinking on buying a set of granite alloy ga 13 for my 09 silverado and tire rack mentions something about maybe having to buy a new set of 4 tpms for about 140.00. First question, do I need new ones or will my orginals install on the new rims, keeping the orginal tires for now. Can you not install the tpms, and what happens then. hope someone can help, didn't think about the sensors. thanks

I would just have new ones put in the new tires. if you don't put them in you will have to rest them on the dash every time you start it.

I have a set of Granite Alloys on my truck. I used my old sensors. I did not see the point of spending the 140 on sensors. In winter I put my old wheels back on ( 3 months) and deal with the light on the dash for that short time.
