ohmeter set on 200,000. resistance reads 8.5.
according to the book ohms should be between 1.5k and and 10k. to me looks to be within range. am i right. if i am why do i keep getting a code 43.

Try getting a reading(power disconnected) with the setting lower, like 25,000 or 20,000 ohms.

Getting a reading that low on that high of a scale is like weighing a golf cart on a truck scale, it's just not going to be very accurate.
