Default Oil Leak Around Intake Gasket

I have a 1995 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado with a Marshall 5.7L 350 remanufactured engine. I have discovered an oil leak around the intake gasket on the front of the engine, and I am wondering if that may be causing the slight amount of smoking that my truck has. I am thinking that the oil may be getting sucked in where it is not supposed to be when I start my engine and that may be causing the smoke. Any thoughts?

Thank you for your suggestion to fix the valve seals, but I fixed them last summer after I bought the truck. The thing smoked like a freight train when I got it, but would stop after a while. Now the only time it really smokes very much is on a cold morning, while every once in a while smoking briefly on any other day. That is why I thought the gasket leaking would have something to do with it. If you have any other thoughts on the issue then please give me what you have.

No Sir,

We're talking inside and outside the cumbustion chamber. The only way oil can get there is either thru the valve guides or up around the rings. "If" the intake gaskets were leaking, it wouldn't be running right anyway.

What type of seals did you put on? The umbrella or o-ring or both?

I put both in. It is running fine and has been smoking less and less since it has been getting driven every day. Will just keep looking for oil leak then if it is not the intake gasket.
