Hello, i have a 95 chevy k1500 z71 5.7L. The truck has no knocking or oil leaks and is full of oil but when at idle after running for awhile the oil pressure gauge goes very low, but when first started in the mornings or after a while of being off the oil pressure is normal, what could this be?!?!?! Really need help!!!

 

I had a '94 Suburban with that same engine and had the same symptoms. It eventually spun a connecting rod bearing and I believe a bad bearing was the reason for the low oil pressure. I hope your situation is different.

 

I used to have a problem like this, it was an '87 s10 but may be an issue almost the same. The oil cap was just old and wouldn't fit right. I bought a replacement and topped off the oil, never had a problem again. It may be something else but that might be something just to check.

 

Did you ever get your oil pressure problem fixed?
