Default Oil Pressure problems

I Have an 03 Silverado 5.3L and my oil pressure gauge now reads just under max when running but yet when I shut off engine with key still on it still reads about 3/4.The gauge does reset itself when off. When I unplug the oil pressure sending unit the gauge reads 0.The only thing I have tested so far is the 5 volt reference against the low reference and I do Have 5 volts. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Nothing, if it reads proper when running, I'd not worry about it
