I just recently changed the Vortec 5.7 motor in my truck and while scrambling to find any plugs I have missed when I came across the oil pressure sending unit. The sending unit on the motor I put in and the one on my original motor and subsequently my wiring harness have a different prong count.

Is this one of those times I can replace the sending unit with the one that matched the plug in the truck or am I going to have to play the wire the right plug into the truck for the one in there?

 

You're probably playing with the wrong oil sender.
