Default Onstar Problems

Recently I started having problems with my onstar and phone volume. The sound sounds like it is coming from the mirror only and no volume from the speakers, Sounds very tinny and distant. Any thoughts?

From my experience with car stereos, when you have an issue like that where it sounds like its a connection issue, more than likely its the headunit. I'm 100% sure but I believe the onstar system resides in the headunit. Because of the nature of this issue, I'd have it checked out by the dealership. When you have specific electronic issues like this, theres usually no simple solution.

smokinit,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. Have you contacted OnStar to confirm if there is an issue directly with your OnStar system?

Thank you,
Elizabeth, Chevrolet Customer Service

smokinit,

I understand. OnStar may be able to let you know if there is some sort of connection issue with your mirror. If you would like, I can speak with your local dealership to confirm what the diagnostic fee would be. Once they look at it, they would be able to quote you the price to fix it.

Thank you,
Elizabeth, Chevrolet Customer Service

Basilkies,
You’re right, I am sorry. I would never wish anyone to have any type of vehicle issues. However, things do happen. I am sorry that you do not like my responses. I do not have any technical experience. If I did, it would be kind of difficult to diagnose anything over the Internet anyway. I am doing my best to help everyone on the forum get the help they need to get their issues fixed. Thank you for your input, it surely will be documented.

Have a great day,
Elizabeth, Chevrolet Customer Service

I bought 2015 Malibu 1.6 LT in 2015 . It's ok with the vehicle itself BUT I'm having problem with Onstar .
I can't have Navigation service in my country which is understandable .
But , even Audio is giving me problems with On & Off blank screen .
Built-in Hard Disk has only just over 1-GB out of its 5-GB capacity .
I went to Chevy Service here and they've no idea to solve .
I'm even considering to replace with compatible Kenwood .
Can you reply as a last resort for me.
