Unhappy Oxygen sensor... purple wire ?

Hey Y'all,

Still new here - and I need a bit of help. I've searched the forums and haven't found anything that can help me in my current dilemma...

I have a 93 silverado 1500 4x2, ex cab. I bought it with 310,000 on it.
The motor was replaced, and it has 50,000 on it.

The problem is that the previous owner (or owners) was a hack!

I had a Dodge Ram - it was absolutely terrible with front end problems and no power - but that's another story...

I love the Chevy - I should've gone Chevy a long time ago.

The person that did the work on the truck was a total scab. He put brake lines draped over the exhaust, cut vacuum lines, duct taped the shift linkage at the transmission, and much more ignorant stuff than that...

Well, so far I've done all four balljoints, thermostat, vacuum lines, exhaust, brake lines, pads, and more.

I keep getting the SES light, and the code is the oxygen sensor.
The problem is - there isn't one. The @#$%^&*!!! idiot replaced the pipe and it doesn't have a hole for one ! He also cut the wire and did God knows what with it !

I need help in finding the wire. I am going to weld in a bung for a new sensor, but I can't find the wire that it is supposed to connect to. The Haynes manual says that it is a purple wire, but I can't find it .
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance !
