Paint Fallin' off
Ok so I have a 1994 Chevy K2500 pickup and my dad has a 97 GMCK3500 pickup and bolth are white... and on bolth of them the paint is starting to peel off. The GMC's paint is peeling off around the mid section of the door (where the indent runs along) bolth front and rear doors are doing this (4door) and on the Chevy the paint is starting to peel off of the hood and front top of the cab.
I have seen so many of these pickups with the paint peeling and I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this? Is it just a bad top coat that wont stick to the primer or is the primer at fault? I would like to have my chevy repainted but if its a primer problem thats going to get expensive to strip a Xcab long box down to bear steel and redo it...

How often do you wax it and wash it? That may be directly correlative to your problem if you don't take care of it. However, if you have owned it since new and do wax it often (once every 2-4 months) and wash it often (every 1-4 weeks), and its still peeling, then you have 11-14 year old paint and its gonna do that no matter what you do.
It shouldn't take much to strip it down to bare metal. Just a good sandblaster and about 5-10 more minutes.
