Default parking break issue

I just bought a 2000 Silverado. went to get it inspected. Found out the parking break doesn't stop truck from moving. It will depress but it won't keep the truck from moving. Any ideas or suggestons?

Replace the small shoes inside back rotors if you have disk rear brakes. Check front and both back cables for looseness.

a quick fix is put your truck in reverse back up at a good speed and slam on you park brake do this a good 3 or 4 times and this may adjust your pads out
