Passenger Airbag Switch
Hello Everyone, I know many frown upon a first time poster with a question on the first post, but I'm quite frustrated. I am quite the chevrolet fan and have been for years. I have a 1998 K1500 Ext Cab and recently I was upgrading the audio system and in the process I broke my Passenger Airbag ON/OFF switch
. I thought to myself, "hey you can just order one from eb*y or something". Well, I thought wrong. I have done an extensive search online for the switch assembly and continue to come up empty handed. No local junkyards have a comparable year/model and the online junkyard parts request yield no results either...I'm beginning to wonder if there is some kind of unspoken rule or law or something that prevents owner replacement of this part. I'm sure someone else out there has had this issue before, how did you fix it? Thanks for your time and I look forward to many posts to come.

Welcome to CF, mightyorion! I'm sorry if you've experienced adversity for posting a question before anything elsewhere, but I'm sure you won't experience that here.
As for your airbag switch, you can find it here.
How did you manage to break the switch? I'm interested to hear the story behind it. =]

Welcome to the Chevy Forums, Mightyorion. We're here to help each other, so feel free to post Qs and comments. Just don't bash me too hard or I'll break out in a rash.
Have you tried googling "chuckstrucks"? they might be able to help.
There probably just isn't much demand for that particular part. Does it look like it can be retrofitted with a different type of switch that's more available? Some of my best repairs are dyed- in- the- wool, outside-of-the-box-, sideways thinking prototypes...
