Default PIE GM9-AUX Auxiliary Input Converter (or something similar)

I have a 01 Silverado with the intergral CD and external tape deck (which I don't use) and was thinking about using this GM9-AUX (or something similar) to hook-up an external audio source (mp3 player).

Has anyone tried one of these out?

Thanks always,

success

I used the GM12-AUX which is the same unit as the GM9 but the GM12 for 2003 to 2006 models. The cd/changer/tape port on the 2000-2002 are 9 pin and the ones on the 2003 to 2006 models are 12 pin. It works great for me. Plays my music from my phone just fine. I can even receive calls and have the audio play through the car speakers although i have to turn the volume down so the other party doesnt hear an echo. It lets you keep your truck looking stock and hopefully keeps potential thieves to move on to a car stereo that looks more snazzy than yours.

The GM9 makes your radio think it has a CD Changer and will display CD1 - Track1 when in use.

If anyone was wondering, the GM9 will work on 1995-1999 radios if you have a cassette radio with CD changer controls.

BUT this will not work if you have a CD player radio that is from 1995-1999. The CD player Radios that are 1999 and older did not have CD changer control capabilities and thus will not work. Hope this helps
