Default Pioneer DEH-3400 in 92 Silverado??

I am trying to install this CD deck into my truck, but i'm not sure where to put it. I still want the use of my Cassette player though. I have seen new faceplates that you can put on the center of the dash that have the stereo hole, and the air vent holes. Anybody have any suggestions? I don't want to mount it under the dash because it would look gaudy and I dont' thihnk it will fit

Do you have the cassette player in the center of the dash right under the air vents right now? I do believe that's pretty much the only place a kit will put the cd player. The volume control and station selector part is just to the right of the steering wheel and the cassette is farther to the right of it but separated from it, right? It's been a while since I've looked inside my 91. I'm not sure where else you would be able to put it. I've never thought of keeping the cassette. I'm not sure if an aftermarket cd player would be able to control the tape deck or receive any thing from it.

I think you can buy an aftermarket tape deck and hook it up as a AUX accessory. Not sure though.
You may have to go double din, which may be a quite complicated install.

The main reason I want the cassette player is so that I can hook up my ipod, which happens to be missing right now . And yes I am pretty sure that the Cassette deck is right in the middle of the dash. here is the kit that I found that looks like I'll be able to keep it: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142GR14...121&tab=review
