hey i installed an after market cd player in place of my stock radio/casset player on my 99 silverado 1500 5.3L vortech v8 and it wont work i installed it correctly but i think it blew a fuse of relay cause my speedometer, rpm, and fuel guages dont work either any clue as to what is wrond with it please wright back

 

did you check all the fuses under the dash and under the hood??

start there.

if it was wired correctly, then nothin "bad" should have happened.

sounds like you have a pinched wire in the dash causin a short circuit.

may take a couple hours to find it and fix it.

take your time. dont rush it.

 

hey thanks i think i might know wher a pinched wire could be by pushing the cd player in to secure it to the dash ill give it a look tomarrow

 

Make sure you have a test light handy as it will probalby be needed.

 

Try fuse #45. I know for a fact IT's for the radio and the instrument cluster
