Default PLEASE HELP! 1997 4l60E compatibility

i have a 1997 chevy silverado 4x4 and i recently blew up the transmission. im curious what other trucks, vans or suv's have this transmission. ive heard so many different things. also, can i get a 2wd transmission and just change the tailcshaft?

I'm pretty sure you can, but the tailshaft and the tcase adapter will have to be put on as well.

The only difference is that tail-shaft.
