Power Programmers
#13
I've heard all kinds of stories about these programmers and most people say to go with a custom tune. I was just looking at those Bully Dog products online for the 07-09 chevy Gas (5.3) now I know there is alot of threads on here about programmers but has anyone actually used a bully dog product before. My truck has a Magneflow Exhaust and a Power aid throtle body spacer and K&N filter (not an intake) I just want a little more fuel economy.

I got the Diablosport Predator, fortunately for more reasons than just tuning for gas economy.
I found the overall economy gains to be minimal at best.
As to the CAI, I got a K&N. While an increase in actual horsepower may be arguable, my experience is it gives you high revs much faster than a stock intake. Therefore, you have more usable HP under your foot faster than before.
It's generally agreed that a CPM chip by Black Bear or Nelsontune is better than a programmer, but I can't speak from experience concerning the new gas Bully Dogs or PP3s.
