I used my dad's truck and camper last week. It has a 350 engine and it's pulling a 25ft 5th wheeler. So it's not the fastest thing on the highway. But I guess my dad doesn't really care. He's 73 years old. I was running against a 25 mile and hour headwind with my foot all the way to the floor for about an hour and I was running between 60 and 65. Would it have helped to put in premium gas. I have heard that it wont help it if the computer is not set up for it and it can actually be bad for some engines if you switch around too much.

As long as the octane meets the requirements of the engine buying higer priced gas does no good.

Higher octane may be helpful if you are towing and are at higher altitudes... but for the most part the recommended rating is all you need....
If the vehicle has had mods that have changed the spark timing a higher octane may be needed....

Thanks for all the help. I guess that can be good or bad. I'll be saving some money because I have no reason to buy higher octane. But I'm stuck with no power when I use it. Thanks Again

You are probably stuck with no power no matter what you burn. You dont say what size truck it is or where you live, or what trans/rear axel you have but I would guess its overloaded. I have a 350 auto with a 3;42 rear axel and it has trouble pulling a 23 ft RV. Does fairly good on level ground but any hill is a challenge.

That 350 is way maxed out. Pulling what you are I'd suggest a 454.

Remember, I'm using my dad's truck to pull 5th wheeler. My trucks are not set up for that. It is a 1\2 ton with a 350 engine, auto trans. It's a 1992 and I have no idea what the rear end is.
