Exclamation problems filling up (need help)

Hi, here is my problem. when I try to fill up my gas tank it will fill normally for about 5 seconds then the pump will click off from the pressure sensor, there also seems to be a high pitch whistle sound. Now i believe it is that some one must have put something down the tube. Is there any way to fix this with out going to a shop or because it deals with the gas tank should I just take it in? Thanks for the help

have you tried pulling the gas nozzle back a bit?? on some vehicles with some nozzles the gas gets squirted right up against an elbow in the filler neck, if you pull the nozzle back an inch or two it might fill fine, my 98 does this. or try insirting the nozzle upside down, i know on my buddies diesel it works.

The pull out method, contrary to popular belief, does actually work....most of the time (DOH!)
I see somebody has a ninja 250 (racerx55). How is it going for you? I have a ninja 500, I was gonna buy a 250 back when I bought my 500 but all the new bodystyle 250's had a lifelong waiting list. LOL. I love the mileage, plus, they can still surprise the bigger bikes in the twisties. Straights....LOL. My friend's cbr1000rr hit about 160 when my hit 120 in a straight one day.

Had the same problem on my 05 Z71 Tahoe. After checking all the hoses/connections, the problem was a defective canister vent valve.
Mounts on side of evap canister, one hose, one electrical connection.
Under $30, problem solved.
