Default Programmer or Tune???

Well i have an 09 silverado with the 4.8 and i was wondering if a programmer would help much... and if so which one... i know edge is pretty good but i dont know much gas vehicle programmers...

I was also wondering if i should just take the truck to a performance shop and get the computer tuned... I dont know which one would be better.. getting it tuned would be cheaper but how much will it help...

any advice appreciated...

Look into blackbear. My old supervisor has a 03 5.3. got a edge programmer, he is greatly disapointed, he aint got nothing on my 6.0. and its basically stock. i plan on a blackbear 1 day.

the thing with black bear is that you have down time. i dont have time to be down it's my daily driver. i got a hyper tech for mine, 09 silverado 5.3 and i did the premium tune, and i do notice a slight difference in low rpm, and a good difference in the high rpm.. i'm awaiting my volont cold air intake now as we speak so hopefully with the two i should notice some difference.

With a black bear tune you can opt for paying the core charge to receive a new pcm that will come programmed so that you don't have any down time at all. All you will have to do is install it your self and do a relearn for your truck. You will have a programmed pcm and a stock one at your disposal. Look up the black bear performance website for further details.

I vote tune. I got a Diablo Predator programmer, and it did very little for gas economy.
