I would be careful man; anything that looks too good to be true probably is. Do lots of homework on a vehicle that's a good deal before you buy it at the drop of a hat.

Here's what I would do, having been in your situation before, except with less money; Look around, ask questions, browse websites, decide exactly what you need, then figure out what you want... To be honest with you, I wouldn't even worry about gas mileage, A first vehicle is a milestone in your life and a little bit of petroleum shouldn't hold you back. In the grand scheme of things, that little bit of gas mileage you will be saving by going with something you don't like will not even matter. A part time job should cover your gas just fine, I don't have a problem and I have a little extra money in my pocket. I weighed the pro's and cons of what I wanted, then I found my truck just sitting in a little uparkusell lot and I fell in love... I haven't looked back and I just try and ignore the small price there is to pay for having 350 cubic inches of raw power underneath the hood.

Good luck on your first vehicle, and remember, its a milestone in your life

To be completely honest, a single cab long bed is just plain ugly; zero style. If you get a single cab, get a short bed.

OK, blindsight, style notwithstanding, the long bed is great for hauling sheetrock and lumber...

Depends if the OP uses it for work, as well as play.

Hey!!!!!!

I have a single cab longbed!
Need I remind you that a longbed rides and drives much better because of the longer wheelbase

Sure it does, until you try to turn it. I'd have to say that it driving much better is an overstatement as well.

I'm only kidding. A long bed should realistically be used as a work truck, because as rivereye said, that was its purpose, to haul stuff, hence the larger space.

Plus, a single cab long bed and a extended cab short bed are the same length. I'd rather seat 5 people over fitting more crap in the back of my truck; my 6ft bed suits me just fine. But, that's me, he may be different.

I don't know about that, wasn't it Oscar Wilde who said"The more people I meet, the better I like my sheetrock & 2x4s."?? Or something like that...

Haha, if I ever give rides I make sure I'm not shortchanged. Though riding with me is an experience and thrill ride, haha. I love having space for friends to ride with me; I'd hate not having an extended cab.
