Question question for the guys who know the 4l60e internals well

I have a 2001 silverado 5.3 with the 4l60e I have posted my tranny problems on here a few times and my tranny is out again....

I had it rebuild by a guy that lives in muskogee and he just fixed the problem not a full rebuild it went about 2000 miles and died I took it to him again so he fixed the problem another 500 miles it died again so I had another guy from glenpool rebuild it this time and a full warrantied rebuild with borg warner clutches and a transgo shift kit with vette servos and a beast sunshell it lasted 3000 miles and is dead 3rd and 4th clutches died and 1st and 2nd are slipping... what is the problem here the guy I had showed me the receipt and all the old parts so I know he did the rebuild what is causing this to happen so frequently are 4l60e's that ****ty? I am going to have him warranty it and he is going to rebuild it for free. but I want it to last this time is there something I should mention to him to look for that he might not have seen....

I have an aftermarket hayden transmission cooler installed to prevent overheat problems.

I have a 2004 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L V8, and have heard that there were TWO different automatic overdrive transmissions installed in them. One is good and one is bad, but I don't know which is which. How would I know if I have the 4L60E or the other (unnamed) one? Can you tell by the VIN tag?

BTW, my truck is a 2wd with the Z85 package (according to the tag inside the glove box door). I hope mine doesn't start acting up like that. Can't afford that kind of mess right now.

4l60e is in 4.3 4.8 5.3 and 5.7

4l80e is in 6.0

you have 4l60e same as mine it took 212,000 miles of abuse before it went the first time....

btw my problem is when mine when out the sprag snapped and screwed the casing up gotta get a new casing thats why its been torn apart so many times.

You mean the center support cracked in two? Yeah, that's abuse for sure.
