Exclamation RE: Cattle Guard+Bed Liner

I have a bolt-on Ranch Hand Cattle Guard on my 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4x4 truck and I'm considering on getting Bed Liner on it. Would it be a good idea, a bad idea, and would the bed liner make it tougher and more durable? And would it look good or bad on it?
Any help is apprieciated.
Thanks,
Zach

I thank it is a great idea. My iron bull bumper has bed liner and in the three years i have had it, no rust or chips, and with a little armor all it still shines up nicely. Go for it.
