yeah make sure you put the pin back in a finger tight the 8mm bolt once you pull the axles out and b4 you do anything else. it will save you plenty of time trust me. I didn't the first time I did this and the spider gears fell out.

I have done 6 of these and have never not had the bearings come out after several hard slams with the slide hammer. hey any one I have an 8.5 rear end 2002 gmc sierra 4wd, replacing rear bearings, got a bearing puller kit from napa and the largest size does not fit in the axle housing and the next size does not seem to fit the racer very well, seems too small? 1"-3/4 and 1-1/2". did they give me the wrong set? they obviously assumed everyone in the world has a 5/8" 18 T slide hammer in their garage because they never mentioned that I would need that with the kit.!
