Default Remote Start Enabling

Hi all,

2008 Silverado, AP8 option code, the fob doesn't have the remote start button. If I open it up the pad is there and I can manipulate it and the truck behaves (parking lights flash) as if it were ok but of course it doesn't actually start.

Can I get it flashed to enable this without having to buy fobs?

Thanks.

AP8 is remote start prep package. You need to buy new remotes then have it programmed (turned on) by the dealer

What do you think of the factory remote starter for distance is it worth having it activated?

My 2012 Truck was remote start enabled, but the dealer said they couldn't use the factory set up for some reason. They had a Viper remote start installed instead. They said it had more range than Factory remote.
