Default Routing Wires in '99 silverado

I want to add some extra lighting to the front of my truck. I want to control the set separately from the headlights with switches in the cab. I know the firewall is sealed from the engine compartment but does anyone know of a good way to route wires through the firewall. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Around the steering column on the engine side of the firewall, cut a hole in the rubber boot and use a hanger to run wire through there

Where ever you decide to run your wires through the firewall, you can seal it with a good silicone sealer.
